Havasu Falls - November 9 - 11

Experiencing Havasu Falls is a must for all Grand Canyon lovers. On this trip we will see it with fall colors. The backdrop of the blue-green waterfall in red rock surrounded by cottonwood trees with orange and yellow leaves will make this a unique visual experience. Come and see it as few ever do!

Nov. 9

At 8am we will meet in Flagstaff, AZ at the downtown train station. The we will go in our vehicles to the trailhead, about a 4hr drive. The Trailhead is located at Hualapai Hilltop, AZ. Once there we will begin our descent into the canyon. We will be hiking about 8mi and 4,000ft downhill today. Our hike should take 5-6hrs. The hike to the falls is scenic in its own right. We will pass many fossils and unique geology which our guides will discuss at several break points. When we reach Supai Village we will discuss the human history of this ancient place. We will be staying at the Supai Lodge, a motel.

Nov. 10

Today we'll awake early to take advantage a full day of sightseeing. We will hike about 2mi from the lodge to our camp for this night and set up and leave heavy stuff behind. Then we will spend the rest of the day visiting the various waterfalls such as Navajo, Havasu, Mooney, and Beaver Falls. Our hike today will be about 14mi round-trip. W'll have to time to photograph and relax at each step and learn about this unique riparian environment.

Nov. 11

Today we'll begin our 10mi hike out of the canyon early. Once we reach the rim we will then drive back to Flagstaff.
